The Copyright Agency Cultural Fund

The Copyright Agency Board endeavours to support a mix of writing, publishing and visual arts projects from around Australia. Current areas of focus are projects that will provide cultural and educational institutions support to give individual artists, authors and publishers opportunities to develop their professional skills and develop new works.

ABR Gender Fellowship

Australian Book Review is delighted to offer the ABR Gender Fellowship – an addition to our highly successful Fellowship program. With support from Emeritus Professor Anne Edwards AO, a former Vice-Chancellor of Flinders University and a long-time ABRPatron and board member, we are seeking proposals for a substantial article on gender in contemporary Australian creative writing in all its forms.

The ABR Gender Fellowship is worth $7,500.

The Create Career Fund

The Create Career Fund supports individual mid-to-late career artists and authors by providing grants to support time to write and create.

Applicants are able to apply for grants of $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000. Two rounds are held each year with $50,000 available for each round.

Applicants must be able to provide a clear outline of their creative project along with the following information.

Authors will need to

• Provide evidence that they have commenced work

• Provide a sample of their work and an overview or synopsis

• An estimated publication date

• A list of previous publications of at least 5 to 6 works

• A letter of endorsement from a publisher or editor

The Churchill Fellowship

The Churchill Fellowship awards overseas study trips for individuals seeking to conduct research away from their home country, provided that project has some wider community benefit. For more information, click here (Australia) and here (USA).

Next Wave | Kickstart Helix Progam

Kickstart Helix is a fresh new learning program designed to support emerging and early career artists, curators, producers and writers from across Australia. This year-long program combines professional skills development with creative discussion and critical feedback through a series of residencies, workshops, showings and events, together with self-directed learning and ongoing staff support. Kickstarters are connected with peers, professionals and organisations from around the country, growing their networks and supporting them to produce and present their most ambitious work yet.

Drug Aware YCulture Regional

Drug Aware YCulture Regional is a funding initiative dedicated to regionally-based young people, aged 12 to 26, to assist in actively creating, planning, and delivering their own arts projects.

Drug Aware YCulture Regional offers young artists funding up to $4,000 (or up to $6,000 – if you live above the 26th parallel or in very remote Western Australia) towards community arts projects developed and administered by young people, for young people, across all art forms.

This fund primarily focuses on skills development, which can include music workshops, script writing and production, graffiti art, writing and illustration, dance residencies, new media, and much more!

Funding is available throughout the year and can cover project costs, including artist fees, artist travel, materials, promotional costs, documentation, or venue hire.
